Bean Station Volunteer Fire Department

Mission Statement

The Bean Station Fire Department is dedicated to the community to which we serve. We add a mix of old time values with modern technology to provide our community with the best possible fire service. Always remembering those who come before us and providing for those yet to come.

Chief's Message

The Bean Station Vol. Fire Department operates out of 2 stations. Station 1 is at the corner of Broadway and Main St. in the city limits of Bean Station and a second station in the county on Lakeshore Rd. We currently have an ISO ranking of 8 within 5 miles of the department and 9 in all others. We operate 3 engines, 1 water tanker, 1 brush unit, 2 quick response vehicles and 1 rescue truck.

Our department currently offers a variety of services to the community. In addition to fire suppression we offer vehicle rescue, if the need arises medical first response and fire safety programs. In the future we plan on developing specialty services such as high angle “rope” rescue. We achieve all of these services and goals through mostly private donations and fundraising events. We do receive a generous donation from the city of Bean Station and our local United Way, both as generous as they are account for only 20% est. of our yearly expenses.

We have 25 active members. We offer an array of training disciplines, from Firefighting, first responders, E.M.T.’s and paramedics. We pride ourselves on our working relations with each other and other agencies. If you’re in Bean Station stop in and allow us to show you our hospitality.
